2026 New Signal Generator – 0.1% Accuracy, DC voltage, DC current, thermocouple and Smart Control 72A / 72B
Price range: $61.99 through $72.99
Victor 72A and 72B Signal Generators are high-accuracy, multifunctional tools designed for measurement and output in industrial automation, calibration, and loop testing. Both models offer 0.1% basic accuracy, measurement of DC voltage, DC current, and on-off, plus output of DC voltage, DC current, and frequency. The 72B Signal Generator adds thermocouple measurement and output. Key features include active/passive DC current output, manual 25%/100% stepping, automatic waveform output (auto-step, sawtooth, triangle), loop detection with internal 24V supply, preset values, engineering quantity conversion, and a rechargeable Type-C interface. These signal generators are ideal for engineers needing precision, flexibility, and smart automation in a portable package.

The 72A and 72B Signal Generators are high-accuracy, multifunctional tools for measurement and output in industrial automation, calibration, and loop testing

1. High Accuracy You Can Rely On
Both models deliver a basic accuracy of 0.1% for measurement and output, ensuring trustworthy results. Whether you are calibrating a transmitter or simulating a sensor, this signal generator minimizes errors. The 0.1% accuracy applies to DC voltage, DC current, and frequency outputs, making the 72A and 72B suitable for demanding industrial environments.
2. Dual Functionality: Measure & Output
Each signal generator combines measurement and output capabilities in one handheld device. The 72A and 72B measure DC voltage, DC current, and on-off continuity, while the 72B adds thermocouple measurement. On the output side, both provide DC voltage, DC current, and frequency, with the 72B also outputting thermocouple signals. This makes the 72B a complete signal generator for temperature loop testing.
3. Smart Current Output with Active/Passive Modes
The signal generator supports both active and passive DC current output. Active mode powers the loop directly, while passive mode works with external loop power. This flexibility allows the signal generator to integrate into 2-wire or 4-wire systems without additional converters. You can also select 0–20mA or 4–20mA ranges to match your application.
4. Manual Step & Automatic Waveform Output
When outputting DC current, the signal generator offers manual stepping and automatic waveforms. Manual step includes 25% and 100% increments for quick valve or positioner testing. The automatic waveform output includes auto-step, sawtooth wave, and triangular wave — all with fully configurable parameters. These features turn the signal generator into an automated test tool, reducing repetitive manual work.
5. Preset Values & Engineering Quantity Conversion
Work directly in your process units without mental math. The signal generator allows preset value storage and engineering quantity conversion (for example, converting mA directly to °C, pressure, or flow). This saves time and prevents calculation errors during calibration or simulation.
6. Built-in Loop Detection with 24V Supply
The signal generator includes an internal 24V loop power supply and simultaneous current measurement. This loop detection function lets you power a transmitter and measure its output current at the same time. No external power supply is needed, making the signal generator a standalone troubleshooting tool for 4–20mA loops.
7. Modern Type-C Connectivity
Rechargeable battery and communication via a single Type-C port. The signal generator charges via USB-C and can communicate with a PC for configuration or data logging. This ensures long field operation and easy firmware updates.
