Multifunction Process Calibrator: Independent Measure & Source with HART Communication (26H)
Price range: $1,625.99 through $2,035.99
VICTOR 26 series represents a new generation of process calibrators featuring two independent channels for simultaneous measurement and signal output. Available in two models—the standard 26 and the 26H with HART communication—these IP65-rated devices combine high precision (0.01% accuracy) with rugged field durability. They measure and source DCV, mA, resistance, thermocouples, and RTDs. The 26H model includes a built-in 250Ω HART resistor, allowing seamless communication with smart transmitters without external accessories. With a large dual-display interface, data logging, and 24V loop power, the 26 series is the ultimate tool for commissioning and troubleshooting industrial loops.

1. Independent Dual-Channel Operation (Simultaneous Measure & Source)
The standout feature of the VICTOR 26 series is its two completely independent channels. Unlike traditional calibrators that force you to switch between measuring and sourcing, the 26 series allows you to measure and output signals at the exact same time. For example, you can source a 4-20mA signal to a valve positioner while simultaneously measuring the position feedback signal. This capability drastically reduces test time, eliminates the need for two separate units, and allows technicians to observe cause-and-effect in control loops instantly. The independent channel architecture ensures no electrical interference between the input and output, guaranteeing reliable results during complex troubleshooting.
2. HART Communication Integration (Model 26H Only)
For the modern smart plant, the VICTOR 26H is a game-changer. It comes with a built-in optional 250Ω HART loop resistance. In standard calibrators, you must carry and manually wire an external 250Ω resistor to communicate with HART transmitters. The 26H integrates this directly into the device. By simply activating the internal resistor, you can calibrate a HART pressure or temperature transmitter, measure its mA output, and use a HART communicator to read digital variables—all without breaking the loop or searching for loose parts. This integration saves setup time, reduces connection points (which lowers signal noise), and makes the 26H the go-to tool for smart instrumentation.
3. Extended Electrical Range and High Resolution
The VICTOR 26 series offers broader ranges and finer resolution than many competitors.
- DCV Output: Output from -10.000mV up to 11.0000V with 1µV resolution on the mV range—critical for testing high-gain amplifiers and low-level transducers.
- DC Current (mA): Source 0.000 to 33.000mA with 1µA resolution, supporting beyond the standard 20mA range for over-range testing of I/P converters and barriers.
- Resistance (Ohms): Source from 0.00Ω to 4.0000KΩ with 0.01Ω resolution, allowing accurate simulation of RTDs and potentiometers.
- TC & RTD Support: Comprehensive support for R, S, K, E, J, T thermocouples with cold junction compensation (RJC) accurate to ±0.5°C, covering industrial temperature ranges from -250°C to 1767°C.
4. Rugged IP65 Design for Industrial Environments
Both the 26 and 26H are built to IP65 standards. This means they are completely dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets. The rubberized casing is shockproof and dustproof, ensuring survival when dropped on a concrete plant floor or exposed to rain on an outdoor rig. The terminals are recessed and labeled clearly (MAX 100mA, 30Vpk), and the mA input is protected by a 100mA/250V fast-acting fuse, preventing damage from accidental overcurrent. The “Large screen digital display” is easy to read in direct sunlight or dark control cabinets.
5. Precision Accuracy with Low Temperature Drift
Specified at 23°C ±5°C, the 26 series maintains a basic accuracy of 0.01% ± 0.01% of range. However, industrial sites are rarely climate-controlled. The device features a temperature coefficient of just 0.1 × basic accuracy / °C. This low drift means that when you are calibrating a furnace sensor at 40°C ambient, the 26 will not lose its calibration margin. For TC measurements, the internal RJC sensor measures from -10°C to 50°C with an error of only ±0.5°C, ensuring your temperature readings remain accurate without an external ice bath.
6. User-Centric Features for Efficiency
- Data Storage & Logging: Save critical calibration results directly to the device via the SAVE function. Review MAX/MIN values to capture intermittent loop faults.
- Filter Function: The built-in digital filter smooths out noisy signals (common on long cable runs) to give you a stable, readable value.
- Display & Backlight: The BRIGHT function ensures visibility in low-light conditions, while the HOLD button freezes readings for recording.
- 2ndF (Second Function) Keys: Maximizes button utility without cluttering the interface, giving quick access to CONFIG and START functions.
7. Complete Electrical Safety
Safety is engineered into every port. The maximum voltage applied between V, Ω, Hz terminals and COM is 30Vpk. The mA terminal has robust 100mA input protection. For loop testing, the 24V Loop power supply is internally current-limited to ~25mA, protecting the device and the transmitter under test.
In summary, the VICTOR 26 series (especially the 26H) is not just a calibrator—it is an independent dual-channel workstation. It brings together HART integration, lab-grade precision, and IP65 ruggedness, making it the essential tool for the professional process technician.
